Why am I doing this?

I have to admit that until about 6 months ago I knew very little about Haus Edelweiss. I knew it was a place in Austria where my friend Kelly Brooks' parents had volunteered for many years. When Kelly, Robin, and Claudia first invited me to join them the summer of 2010 as a volunteer, my first impulse was "no way"...too far, too long, too many complications. But after praying about it and being encouraged by Randy to go, I decided to join these longtime friends on this adventure!

This will be a new adventure for me. I wanted to share with family and friends my travels this summer. I leave July 15th for Austria where I will be volunteering with friends at Haus Edelweiss. I will share more about this wonderful place in days to come. I am excited and a little apprehensive about being so far away for 3 weeks this summer from those I love the most. I can't wait to see Austria and be a part of a ministry program that prepares people of Europe for ministry in the Christian faith.
